海綿類（左下）を被覆するArchaeolithoporella．ミクライト質の明暗薄膜が層状に重なる．非生物とする見解もある（Kendall and Iannace, 2001）．特にペルム紀の礁に多くみられ，被覆・連結の役割をになっている．ペルム紀中世（Murgabian）岩井崎層．宮城県気仙沼市岩井崎（南部北上帯）．
