Summary
\n The End-Permian Mass Extinction (EPME) happened around 252 Myr ago was the severest crisis during Phanerozoic, with a loss of ~ 75-95% of species on Earth. The paleoenvironmental perturbations coincident with this mass extinction and its aftermath in Early Triassic attracted extensive attention during last decades. Many researchers brought significant accomplishments, however, there remains disagreement, such as correlations between PTB sections in terrestrial facies. Eastern Yunnan and Western Guizhou area is potentially ideal place to stratigraphic correlation and paleoenvironment research.
\nAs the first time to visit the University of Tokyo, the main purpose that I come here is enhancing understanding and strengthening cooperation with each other. Therefore, this talk will be subdivided into four parts: 1) A brief introduction to our research group in Yunnan University. 2) Paleoenvironment reconstruction from the Latest Permian to Early Triassic based on geochemical proxies of conodont in South China; this part of work was my research background and most of them I finished as a PhD student in China University of Geosciences-Wuhan. 3) Recent investigations on filed geology, stratigraphic correlation and paleoenvironment reconstruction for several classic terrestrial PTB sections in Eastern Yunnan and Western Guizhou area. 4) Brief introduction of geology in Yunnan Province.<\/p>\n
